Presented by the Decorative Folk Artists of Qld Inc. Decorative artists of Queensland have been busy painting boxes, trays and other small items for CraftExpo. See the pieces on display and watch local artists demonstrating their painting techniques. There’ll be one-off painted pieces for sale. Painting styles vary from Australian themes to traditional European designs – the pieces are unique and have loads of handmade appeal.

Paint Your Art Out
Imagine painting your own artworks to hang at home. Can’t imagine it? But it sounds like fun – right? Get started by visiting the ART AREA at CraftExpo and get a helping hand with easy painting techniques from IZZI. There is a world of ways to create art – ranging from simple printing methods to using some fun mediums like texture paste that can be used. And the good news is that no artistic talent is required! Paints, products and canvases will be available from IZZI, in the ART AREA marked on the floorplan.

Bernina 'Sew & Show' Bag Challenge
A great chance to win a Bernina sewing machine every day! Spend an hour getting creative and learning how easy it is to sew while embellishing a groovy bag. There will be a huge variety of product contributed by our generous CraftExpo exhibitors to make your bag unique. Using the Bernette H70 (pictured) you will be able to try different techniques. Think fun, funky, fashionable and make every bag a winner!
To join the challenge:
- ‘Sew & Show’ sessions run daily at 10:30am, 12noon, 1:30pm and 3pm. Sessions run for approx 1 hour.
- Finished bags will be paraded by the makers on the stage at 11:30am, 1pm, 2:30pm and 4pm, and winners will be judged.
- Book at the Bernina Stand G04. Limited seats.
- The $5 fee covers everything you need.
