Queensland Quilters Inc. has thrown down the challenge to their members to create a quilt using the fabric pictured. It’s a Rowan fabric designed by Martha Negley. The quilts from the challenge will be seen for the first time at CraftExpo so enjoy the many and varied results, all with one common thread.

What would you do with this fabric? See the many results from members of the Queensland Quilters guild, displayed at the expo.

An attempt at a world record has resulted in a quilt of mammoth proportions growing in the region of Gatton, Queensland.
It all began with an idea early in 2009. Gail Chalker of Gatton decided to see if she could organise an attempt to make the World's Biggest Hexagon Quilt. Gail is a partner in a local quilt shop and using her network of friends, students and customers and online quilt groups, Gail started to spread the word about the attempt to set a world record.
At CraftExpo, see the quilt at about the halfway point. A massive 60 metres long approximately, as it is estimated that the finished quilt will reach 120 metres and weigh around 120 kilograms.
